The resistance of the workpiece depends on its own resistivity, so resistivity is an important property of the material to be welded. Metals with high resistivity, such as stainless steel, have poor heat dissipation properties. Metals with low resistivity, such as aluminum alloys, have good heat dissipation properties. When spot welding stainless steel, it is easy to generate heat but difficult to dissipate heat, so it can be welded with a low current of several thousand amperes. When spot welding aluminum alloy, it is difficult to generate heat but dissipate heat quickly, so it requires a high current of tens of thousands amperes to weld. However, resistance butt welding is easier and has less impact.

How to resistance braze pure copper

Operational points

4. It is not advisable to use the maximum welding current for brazing.
5. Adjust the welding current first to a small value and then to a large value until satisfied.
6. When the temperature reaches the temperature, step on the foot switch intermittently to control the temperature.
7. Quench the water after welding to allow the base metal and solder to crystallize quickly.
