4. An oxide film is easily formed on the surface to hinder the passage of current.
5. Poor stability, welding temperature and holding temperature cannot be guaranteed, making it difficult to form weld nuggets
6. Current shunts quickly and cracks are easily formed.
Therefore, the following points should be paid attention to when spot welding:
1. Use large current and short time, usually 32-45KA current and 0.1 second for spot welding.
2. There are many choices for aluminum alloy thin plates, including time-controlled and microcomputer-controlled spot welding machines that can accurately set time and current, such as hand-held spot welding machines, foot-operated spot welding machines and pneumatic spot welding machines; for thick plates, medium-frequency spot welding machines should be used.
3. Large-diameter flat or spherical electrodes made of dispersed copper should be selected.
4. The electrode should have good followability and the pressure should be 500-700KG.
5. The cooling water flow rate should be twice that of other materials.
6. The controller must have a slow-rising function to suppress splashing.
