1. Problems with welding current

2. The issue of welding time

But the heat transfer situation is related to time.
In order to obtain a certain strength of the solder joint:
High current and short time - strong conditions (hard specification) welding can be used;
It is also possible to use low current and long time - weak conditions (soft gauge) welding.
The choice of strong or weak conditions in production depends on the nature and thickness of the metal and the type of welding power source used.


3. Problems with electrode pressure
The electrode pressure has a significant impact on the total resistance R between the two electrodes. As the electrode pressure increases, the interface contact resistance decreases. At this time, although the welding current increases slightly due to the decrease in resistance, it is not enough to affect the decrease in heat generation caused by the decrease in R. Therefore, the strength of the solder joint always decreases with the increase of electrode pressure.
In order to bring the welding heat to the original level and keep the strength of the solder joint unchanged, while increasing the electrode pressure, the welding current or welding time should also be appropriately increased to compensate for the impact of reduced resistance.If the electrode pressure is too small, it will cause metal spatter and also cause the strength of the solder joint to decrease.
