(1) Preload preparation
Preloading is to establish good and evenly distributed physical contact points. Therefore, the welding end face of the workpiece and the surface where the current is introduced should be kept clean, and their end faces should be connected at 0 degrees as much as possible to ensure that the initial contact points are as uniform as possible. For workpieces with large cross-section differences, the shape and size of the smaller workpiece should be processed in advance at the port of the larger workpiece before welding, so that the temperature can reach a uniform distribution quickly.


(2) Electric heating
Under the combined action of pressure and resistance heat, the two end faces of resistance butt welding are rapidly heated and liquefied, causing the contact area to increase and finally expand to the entireA joint surface, so that the contact resistance tends to zero, while the workpiece resistance increases as the temperature rises. Under the action of heat conduction, the end surface temperature tends to be uniform, and a certain temperature distribution is formed along the depth of the end of the workpiece. At the same time, under the action of pressure, the workpiece gradually undergoes plastic deformation and shortens.



(3) Upsetting (pushing)
When the temperature of the end face of the workpiece tends to be uniform and a certain uniform temperature distribution is formed along the depth of the end of the workpiece, it enters the upsetting stage. At this time, the welding machine automatically stops powering for upsetting.


In actual use, heating and upsetting are often completed automatically. After completion, just press the stop button.

The carbon content of low carbon steel is less than 0.25%, the resistivity is moderate, the welding power required is small, the plastic temperature zone is wide, the required plastic deformation is easy to obtain, and a large electrode pressure is not required. Therefore, the electrode pressure of DN1S CNC stainless steel spot welding machine is generally fixed by a spring, has low trace element content, no high melting point oxides, and generally does not produce quenching structures or inclusions; the crystallization temperature range is small, the high temperature expansion coefficient is small, there are few cracks, and it has good weldability.

Therefore, we only need to do the following to weld low carbon steel firmly:

1. Set welding parameters

1) Set the welding current: It is presented as a percentage of the total power of the welding machine. The setting range is: 0-99%. When set to 0, the minimum output is about 30% of the total power; when set to 99, the maximum power output.
2) Set welding time: Set the duration of the welding current on the workpiece, ranging from 0 to 99 cycles (1 cycle = 0.02 seconds); when set to 0, there is no welding current; when set to 99, continuous welding.
3) Set the ramp-up time to suppress Mars splashing: Setting range: 0-99 cycles (1 cycle = 0.02 seconds), the empirical value of low carbon steel is about 15 cycles
4) Generally, high current is used to weld low carbon steel in a short time.

2. Place the welding workpiece between the two electrodes, step on the pedal, and the two electrodes press the workpiece tightly. When you continue to step down on the pedal, the pressure support spring will be compressed, and the pin rod under the support spring will resist the travel switch and close the contacts. The controller triggers the semiconductor thyristor and drives the transformer to work, generating welding current to complete the welding.

3. Continuously adjust the three parameters of the controller and test weld, find the customized parameters, and then repeat the welding according to these parameters.

4. During continuous spot welding, the smaller the spot distance, the thicker the plate, and the larger the shunt is; therefore, pay attention to the appropriate spacing.
